Here are the male and female protagonists of Dragon Quest Builders 2. The series was made as a “block-make RPG” where you’ll save the world during your adventure and enjoy “crafting” and Dragon Quest Builders 2 will still carry over that concept.

The entire world is made of blocks, and you’ll break these blocks and defeat monsters to acquire “material” used to create weapons and armor for the protagonist as well as buildings and facilities.

By leveling up crafting skills, the protagonist becomes stronger. While there are no additional details at the moment, Square Enix confirmed that the game will feature multiplayer and it will support up to four players. The previous Dragon Quest Builders only offered single player.

The brand-new title starts out with the protagonist drifting ashore “Empty Island,” an island with no inhabitants. Here you’ll find sandy beaches, caves and a ruin-like area on top of the mountains.

The first Dragon Quest Builders told a “what if” story in a parallel world where the hero of the very first Dragon Quest agreed to team up with the last boss Dragonlord. Dragon Quest Builders 2’s title is God of Destruction Malroth, so we know that he’ll play a big role in the game, but they say that there’s more behind his mystery. You can check out our previous report for a look at Malroth and details on how he’ll help you out.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is in development for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
