The last recorded sales milestones, as of December 2020, were six million units for Dragon Ball FighterZ and seven million for Xenoverse 2. While Xenoverse 2 gained a million units within 11 months, FighterZ sold double that amount in the same period.

Bandai Namco’s continued active support for both games also contributed to the milestone. While the company holds global tournaments for FighterZ, it has also added more new content to Xenoverse 2. Recently, the title received the Legendary Pack 2 DLC that added Full Power Jiren, Super Saiyan 2 Caulifla, Super Saiyan 2 Kale, and Dragon Ball Super Gogeta on November 5, 2021.

To celebrate the milestone, Bandai Namco will hold special events in both games for a limited time. Xenoverse 2 will have a Raid Boss Battle against Full Power Jiren with more TP Medal rewards from November 12 to 18, 2021.

Meanwhile, FighterZ will have a rotation of temporary unlocks that let all players try out DLC characters for a total of 800 hours. The schedule, with all times listed in JST (UTC+9), is as follows:

  • November 12, 2021, 11 AM to November 20, 2021, 10 AM – Bardack, Broly, Fused Zamasu, and SSGSS Vegito
  • November 20, 2021, 11 AM to November 28, 2021, 10 AM – Normal Goku, Normal Vegeta, Cooler, and Android 17
