It took five years for Yotsubane to create Crimzon Clover for PC, bringing it to arcades only took another two. This bullet hell shooter is a doujin game or an indie title from Japan. Crimzon Clover has a standard rapid fire shot, an essential tool for destroying waves of enemies, and a lock on attack. Hold lock on down and you target enemies with a laser that hones in on targets kind of like Raystorm. The downside is locking on slows your ship down. You also have a Break button that either releases a bullet clearing bomb or makes your ship hyper powerful depending how much meter you have. This interview with Yostuba is a good read if you want to know more about Crimzon Clover and the Japanese indie scene.

Crimzon Clover came out for PC in 2011. It just made its arcade debut with Taito’s NESiCAxLive network features built in. The game has also been rebalanced for arcades.
