Billy and Jimmy Lee are heading back into battle. Arc System Works has announced Double Dragon IV. The game will be released digitally on Japanese PlayStation 4s and PCs in January 2017. It will appear first on the PlayStation 4 on January 30, 2017, followed by a January 31, 2017 Steam release.

The official website for Double Dragon IV is now open, with both Japanese and English language options. While it’s rather bare at the moment, identities of some of the development staff have been revealed. It’s made up of some people who worked on the original Double Dragon arcade game. Takaomi Kaneko is the producer, Yoshihisa Kishimoto is the director, Koji Ogata is the character designer, Kazunaka Yamane is handling the music, and Kei Oyama is a programmer.

In Double Dragon IV, Billy and Jimmy face another threat immediately after the events of Double Dragon II. It will be a 2D, side-scrolling beat’em up, with every mode offering allowing two players to participate. The trailer shows a menu screen with Story and 2P Duel modes, as well as a language option.

2017 marks the 30th anniversary of the Double Dragon series.
