It’s typically rare for any JRPG to feature a multiplayer mode. However, given past titles in the Mana series have featured them, it’s only natural some fans are curious if Vision of Mana includes co-op multiplayer.
One of the big draws of the SNES classic Mana games is tossing a controller to a friend and taking on foes together. Because of this, many hoped to see multiplayer make its return in Visions of Mana. The previous release, a remake of Trials of Mana, opted to omit the multiplayer features.
Is There Multiplayer in Visions of Mana?
Sadly, Visions of Mana does not include a co-op multiplayer mode. A notable absence considering that older titles in the Mana series featured this option. The series has a history of allowing players to team up with friends, exploring the world and battling enemies together. In fact, this is a standout feature of many games in the series. However, Visions of Mana is strictly a single-player experience by design.
There was some apparent interest from some of the games development team in potentially adding multiplayer. However, the recent closure of Ouka Studios has likely ended any chances of this feature being implemented. With the studio’s shutdown, the possibility of future updates or post-launch content for the game is effectively off the table. This means that even if fans rally for co-op multiplayer, it’s unlikely to ever come to fruition.
While Visions of Mana offers a polished and well-rounded single-player journey, those hoping for a co-op experience will need to look elsewhere. The lack of multiplayer is a disappointment for those who enjoyed theshared adventure of earlier Mana games. However, the game remains a solid entry in the series despite this omission.
Visions of Mana is currently available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
