Tower of Fantasy is coming to the PS4 and PS5 on August 8, 2023, expanding the RPG past just PC and mobile. If you want to pick up and play between devices, well, you sort of can’t. The Tower of Fantasy PS4 and PS5 versions don’t support cross-save.
Does Tower of Fantasy have cross-save on PS4 and PS5?
Tower of Fantasy does not support cross-save or cross-progression on the PS4 or PS5. This means that while you can access your save file on the fly between PC, Android, and iOS devices, your save is entirely separate on the PS4 and PS5. You can’t access an existing save on PlayStation, and you can’t access your PlayStation save on other devices.
As for the reasoning behind it, the Tower of Fantasy team posted the following statement on the game’s official website on June 11, 2023:
Recently, Perfect World announced that they will be bringing Tower of Fantasy to PlayStation 4 and 5 game consoles worldwide. Upon learning this news, we immediately contacted the Perfect World Company to clarify and they confirmed that Tower of Fantasy will be released and operated as a stand-alone version of the game on the PlayStation platform. This means that there will be no cross-platform connectivity, as game data from the PlayStation version will not be able to merge or transfer with the PC and mobile versions. Additionally, game progression and in-game items and purchases will not transfer between the PC/mobile and PlayStation versions of the game.”
So if you create a new Tower of Fantasy save file on PS4 or PS5, you’ll only be able to play it on your console. If cross-progression is important to you, stick to a PC, Android device, or iOS device.
Tower of Fantasy is free-to-play now on PCs and mobile devices. It is releasing for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on August 8, 2023.
