Does Reynatis Have English Audio?

Reynatis is an RPG adventure where you switch between two characters, Marin and Sari, who stand on opposing sides of a magical war consuming the Japanese city of Shibuya. Marin seeks to become the most powerful wizard, whereas Sari is an officer for the M.E.A. organisation who wants to keep the balance of peace and order.

Reynatis is heavily dialogue-orientated, as the story bounces back and forth between both protagonist’s perspectives. Watching all the cutscenes will easily increase your playtime by over 10 hours. This has made people question whether the Western release of Reynatis will have English audio available. In this guide, we will answer that question.

Is English audio available in Reynatis

The short answer is no. An English audio option is not available for Reynatis at the time of launch. There seem to be no plans for English audio to be added later, either. This may be upsetting to some, as it’s becoming a more common practice for RPGs initially released in Japan to get an English audio option in their Western release.

Fortunately, the Japanese voice cast conveys a lot of emotional sentiments in the cutscenes very well. In some ways, the cutscenes in Reynatis often feel like an anime series. The plot has a very serious undercurrent, but the occasional humorous joke is thrown into the mix, lighting up the whole mood.

The interface is fully translated into English, and the game is subtitled. Throughout my entire playthrough, I didn’t notice any spelling mistakes, which can sometimes be a trap RPGs can fall into when it has a Western release.

There is no denying that one of Reynatis’s highlights is its plot. If you’re not a fan of Japanese audio and reading subtitles, then this one probably won’t be for you. However, if you don’t mind reading heavy dialogue exchanges, you will have no problem playing Reynatis.

Reynatis will come to the PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC in North America and Europe on September 27, 2024, and then in Australia on October 4, 2024.
