Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition featured quite a bit of Vergil, the other son of Sparda. Rightfully so, since he will be playable in that version of the game. But, he’ll also be showing up in the other ones too. DMC5 Vergil DLC is on the way to existing platforms. It will be a paid add-on.
Capcom didn’t have a price or release date for the new character. All that was mentioned in the PlayStation Blog is that he “will be available at a later date.” We also know he’ll play like he will in the Special Edition, which means that we’ll see the Concentration Gauge back in a new form.
What’s also fun is how Vergil’s inclusion came about. Producer Matt Walker authored the PlayStation Blog post and called the character players’ “most consistent request.” He then said that at the end of 2019, Executive Producer Jun Takeuchi said, “Let’s do this.”
Devil May Cry 5 is immediately available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Special Edition will be on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X at launch digitally. The DMC5 Vergil DLC will show up for the existing version of the game sometime in the future and will be a paid add-on.
