Disgaea 6 Demo Debuts in Japan

People in Japan now have a chance to test out a Disgaea 6 demo. The trial, which includes an opportunity to create a save file that can be used in the full game, is immediately available on both the eShop and PlayStation Store. It is a 1.6GB download on the Switch. While Disgaea 6 will eventually be released worldwide on the Nintendo Switch, this sample only offers a Japanese language option. [Thanks, Gematsu!]

The Disgaea 6 demo picks up immediately at the beginning of the game. Though, it seems this is a situation similar to the one in Persona 5, in which players are coming in after major events have already happened. After a brief introduction, which involves a tutorial stage where Cerberus can help an overpowered Zed and the player get used to fighting, Zed comes face-to-face with Overlord Ivar and explains how things got to that point. It’s then that the first chapter begins.

As a reminder, Disgaea 6 will introduce a number of new gameplay elements to the series. For example, as a zombie, Zed can tap into the power of Super Reincarnation to continually get stronger. People will have multiple speed mode options, all the way up to 32x, and different counter abilities.

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny will come to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 28, 2021 and to the Nintendo Switch worldwide in Summer 2021. The Japanese Disgaea 6 demo is now available.
