I’m guessing most of you probably know this by now, but Disaster: Day of Crisis won’t be appearing in Japan on July 3rd. However, Nintendo’s statement doesn’t have the pejorative overtone the words “delayed indefinitely”, as stated by another website, imply.
Here’s the official press release, in Japanese of course. It explains Disaster: Day of Crisis is being held back so Monolith Soft has additional development time to improve the game. Unlike the Super Smash Brothers delay announcement Nintendo is not offering new release date for Disaster: Day of Crisis, so it’s technically “TBA”. However, Nintendo isn’t burying the game in an early grave. Well, at least for Japan.
North America is an entirely different story. For better or worse, Nintendo of America has chosen not to localize many games published by Nintendo of Japan.
