The Metroid, Mega Man, and Devil May Cry-inspired 2D action platformer Beyond-Human, which we brought your attention to a couple of weeks ago, is now up on Kickstarter with a plan to come to Windows, Mac, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita.
As a quick reminder, Beyond-Human is set in a post-apocalyptic world following a devastating alien invasion. Adam, being a typical video game protagonist, wakes up from a coma with amnesia and wonders what the hell happened. Poor guy.
As Adam, you take off to find out what happened and who the hell he is. As to how this story will be told, well, apparently the team behind the game is very fond of anime. “We will have over the top, bad ass, action packed cutscenes to tell the story or reveal a new boss.”
The consequent game is a Metroidvania with eight epic boss battles (the apparent stars of the show), 20+ mini-boss battles, lots of weird purple alien nest environments to shoot your way through, and fast-paces energy sword swishing action to show them aliens how it’s done.
The Dutch duo that are tapping in the code and painting the art work into Beyond-Human is looking for €20,000 in total to finish it off by July 2016, and that’s for PC and PlayStation platforms.
For about $10 you can get an early bird copy of the game (discounted price) for any of the main four platforms. The regular price – once the early bird copies are gone – is about $15. If you bump the price up you can get Kickstarter-exclusive skins, weapons, early builds, and loads more.
