Square Enix has revealed Densha de GO!! Hashirou Yamanote-Sen, a Japanese train simulator game that will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan.
This is a console port of the arcade game Densha de GO!! that has been launched in Japan by Taito since November 2017. The game lets the player become a Japanese train driver. But this console port will have more focus on Tokyo’s tracks; specifically the Yamanote Line, the busiest railway loop line in Tokyo.
Hashirou Yamanote-Sen will feature Takanawa Gateway, the newest station that was established in Minato-ku, Tokyo, very recently in March 2020. It will also have more train lines that have yet to exist in the arcade game, like Saikyo Line and Narita Express.
Other than Arcade Mode, Hashirou Yamanote-Sen will have more modes that are exclusively available on consoles, such as Way of the Driver that has multiple chapters leading to an ending, and a Free Run mode. The PlayStation 4 version also gets an exclusive VR mode that utilizes PlayStation VR.

At the same time, Square Enix also confirmed that this Japanese train simulator game takes one of the placeholder slots at the company’s Tokyo Game Show 2020 stream schedule. The Densha de GO!! stream will even headline Square Enix’s entire TGS 2020 program, as it fills the first Coming Soon slot that is set to air on September 24, 2020, at 18:00 JST (05:00 AM EDT).
Densha de GO!! Hashirou Yamanote-Sen will be available first on the PlayStation 4 on December 3, 2020. The Nintendo Switch version will be released later with its release window yet to be specified.
