Square Enix and Mobage platform owner, DeNA, have announced that they are jointly developing a Final Fantasy social game for the Mobage service. Mobage users in Japan will be able to pre-register for the game on the Mobage website or via the app starting today.

The Final Fantasy social game’s concept is “fighting for teammates”. DeNA and Square say they will combine their respective strengths to develop the game. Square will provide Final Fantasy characters, while DeNA’s in-house development group will contribute in the form of its social game know-how.

Additionally, the two companies also announced that owners of Final Fantasy Type-0 be given certain in-game benefits. So far, the Final Fantasy social game has only been announced for release in Japan.
