Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan Gameplay Video Shows Early Fights

New gameplay footage for the upcoming Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan appeared during the online Kimetsu no Yaiba anime second anniversary event. The video gives viewers a glimpse into what they can expect from CyberConnect2’s action game in terms of gameplay and characters.

In the seven minutes of available footage, Giyu Tomioka, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibara, Nezuko Kamado, and Tanjiro Kamado are all shown as playable characters. We also get see some of the game’s systems, abilities, and gauges in action as players compete in a snow-covered, forested arena. Multiple times throughout the video, the players use special attacks and what appear to be assists from other characters. Similar to many other games that feature tag mechanics, players will be able to deal damage to their opponent’s partner when they are called in to use an assist move.

Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan was originally announced for PlayStation 4 in March 2020 alongside the asymmetric multiplayer title, Demon Slayer: Keppu Kengeki Royal. Since then, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC versions were announced. Details regarding the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X versions, and any potential upgrades they might have, have yet to be revealed. An official release date for the game hasn’t been announced yet either.
