Popular manga and anime series Demon Slayer will collaborate with Japanese international airline ANA later this year. Designs of the four main characters of Demon Slayer will appear on ANA airplanes starting late January 2022. The collaboration will also include new menu items, goods, and limited edition paper cups. [Thanks, ryokutya!]
The collaboration items will appear starting December 1, 2021. In addition to a new onboard menu and limited edition paper cups, children passengers will also receive collaboration Menko cards. Similar to Pogs, games using Menko cards were a traditional pastime for children in Japan originating in the Edo period. There are currently no official images of the collaboration items or airplane designs.
Anime and video game collaborations are common with Japanese airlines like ANA and JAL. The most common franchise to partner with airlines is Pokemon, which frequently provides designs for airline jet planes. Recently, Hokkaido-based regional airline Air Do revealed airplane designs featuring Vulpix and its Alolan variant.
In other news, Demon Slayer‘s latest video game release Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles reached over 1 million sales last month. Following its latest update that added playable demons Rui and Akaza, a second free update is also planned. The next update will add two more playable demons, Susamaru and Yahaba.
The Demon Slayer ANA collaboration airplanes will appear starting late January 2022.
