The tweet shows a partial image of the female protagonist Shina Ninomiya. The message said, “デ**ク coming to Sw**c*.” You can fill in the blanks with “デスリク” (“Desu Riku,” short for “Desu endo rikuesuto”) for the first part and “Switch” for the second part. It doesn’t usually take Compile Heart that long to announce something after showing a teaser, so more information should arrive in the coming days.
Death end re;Quest follows Arata Mizunashi, a game programmer who worked on a virtual reality MMORPG called World Odyssey. The VRMMO’s development was canceled after Arata’s co-worker, Shina, went missing. Its story starts a year later when Arata receives an email from the missing Shina, who has been stuck in World Odyssey the whole time. The gameplay features turn-based RPG battles paired with a visual novel-style segments.
Death end re;Quest is immediately available for the PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam worldwide. Its sequel, Death end re;Quest 2, is also available worldwide for the PS4 and PC via Steam.
