As the PlayStation 5 launch days inch closer, developers are speaking up about what playing certain PlayStation 4 games on the system will be like. Bend Studio is the latest, as it explained in a tweet what people can expect from Days Gone PS5 performances. Basically improved frame rates up to 60fps, an improved resolution option, and the ability to keep all of your progress.
First, the basics had to do with the game’s performance. There will be dynamic 4K as a resolution option. If someone played Days Gone on a PS4 Pro, they had a checkerboard 4K option. It will also be able to run at up to 60fps. Before, it was 30fps in 4K on a PS4 Pro.
More importantly, you can pick up where you left off. If someone starts a Days Gone PS5 game, they could use their PS4 save file. This would be transferred over via options like USB or a PlayStation Plus cloud save.
It’s an important topic to keep covered, because not every PS4 game’s save files will be supported on the PS5. It goes by a company-by-company basis. So, for example, Days Gone, Ghost of Tsushima, and God of War’s save files will work fine on it. However, Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s won’t.
Days Gone is available for the PlayStation 4 worldwide.
