Following a little slip-up from Sony, Bandai Namco officially announced Dark Souls III’s first DLC, Ashes of Ariandel, along with a look at a trailer showing what’s new in the expansion.
Ashes of Ariandel takes you to a new world covered by snow, where you’ll uncover a terrible secret that lies within its frozen lands. The DLC introduces terrifying new enemies, challenges, and lore to expand on Dark Souls III’s storyline.
In the new DLC, players will be tasked with defeating the evil within the land of Ariandel to uncover the mystery of what caused it to become defiled. Additionally, the DLC adds new weapons, armor sets, and magic for players to discover and experiment with, along with new features to the competitive multiplayer mode.

Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel releases on October 25, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for $14.99. The season pass which includes the first expansion, along with the second that is expected to release in early 2017, is also available for $24.99.
