Dark Souls III, the third game in FromSoftware and Bandai Namco’s punishingly difficult RPG series, won’t be the only original adventure set in that world this April. IGN reports Titan Comics will be launching its Dark Souls comic that same month. With approval from creators, this new line will cover offer looks at original adventures set within the world of Dark Souls.
Titan Comics hasn’t discussed how long its Dark Souls series will be running. George Mann will be writing the story. He also did the stories for some of the Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor and Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor stories. Art will be provided by Alan Quah, who has also worked on the Godzilla: Awakening and Orphan Black comics.
The first issue will also have five different covers, four of which were shared by IGN. Two will have game covers, one will have a sketch, and the other two will be drawn by Joshua Cassara (Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor Year Two, The Heroes of Echo Company) and Marco Turini (Assassin’s Creed, Lady Death, Legends of the Dark Knight). The first cover in this story is Turini, and the second is by Cassara.
Dark Souls’ first issue will be released on April 6. It will be followed by Dark Souls III for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on April 12.
