The second game in The Dark Pictures anthology, called Little Hope, released on October 30, 2020 after a pandemic-related delay. We didn’t have to wait long to hear about what Supermassive Games, the publisher for the title, has in store for us, as a trailer for the next title was presented at the end of the most recent game. This reveal is consistent with the series so far, as Little Hope itself had been revealed as a teaser attached to the end of its predecessor, Man of Medan.

The next game is called House of Ashes, and the trailer depicts both an arid, desert climate and an underground cave containing water, darkness, strange noises and a creepy statue. It also depicts a character that people are saying looks a lot like actor Ashley Tisdale, although no official announcement has been made about her potential involvement.

The voice over in the trailer alludes to both mythology and religion throughout, specifically opening with the phrase, “Do you believe in god?” We aren’t given much of an idea about what sort of forces are at work, though. We only know that people are being attacked by things described as both unknown and unbelievable.

House of Ashes is set to release in 2021. Platforms have yet to be announced.
