Kotobukiya has been bringing back reproductions of iconic Yu-Gi-Oh characters, and now two of Yugi’s signature cards’ summons are returning. Both the Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl figures are coming back. Both of them are 1/7th scale figures and will launch in March 2021.
The Dark Magician is an ARTFXJ figure. It is based on a model that originally launched in 2013, though doesn’t come with everything that version did. (The first run back then included a Pot of Greed keychain.) He’s about a foot tall and will cost $89.99.
The Dark Magician Girl is an Ani*Statue and is actually the “older” of the two. The original model launched back in 2011. She’s not as tall as her male counterpart due to the pose, as she stands at only about 7”. However, she’s a little more versatile as she comes with smiling and winking face plates. Also, like the Dark Magician, she doesn’t include the first-run items like the original release did. This figure will cost $79.99.
Here’s a picture of both figures together, to provide a better sense of scale.
The Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl figures will launch in March 2021 in Japan, though the U.S. Kotobukiya product pages do mention people can expect them to appear there in April 2021.
