For the second anniversary of Genshin Impact, HoYoVerse has released six new commercials in Japanese. Most of them are very similar, barring one where Cyno and Paimon introduce Sumeru characters together. They feature narration from Aoi Koga (Paimon), Miyu Irino (Cyno), and Yukari Tamura (Nahida, Qiqi).
In “Introducing Genshin Friends Part 4,” Cyno gives a very quick summary of the playable Sumeru characters prior to Version 3.0. For example, Tighnari is ‘Ranger Leader’ and Dori is ‘Greedy Merchant.’ However, when he introduces Paimon, he says ‘Kawaisa Ippaimon,’ which can translate to ‘Pai-les of adorableness.’ The original is a pun on Paimon’s name and ‘ippai,’ which means ‘lots.’ Though Paimon blushes, Cyno quickly laments that it wasn’t funny, to Paimon’s ire.
The other Genshin Impact second anniversary commercials focus on the game’s story. They end with a phrase that loosely translates to “Beyond the emotions of an RPG.” They are as follows:
“Genshin Impact 2nd Anniversary”
“The Faraway Land”
“A Story About Searching for the Truth”
“New Region Sumeru”
“New Region Sumeru (Paimon Narration Version)”
Version 3.1, which went live on September 27, 2022, features Cyno and Venti as its first set of 5-star characters. Candace is also a new 4-star available on both banners. Aside from the continuation of the Archon Quest, Version 3.1 will have new areas to explore and new domains to conquer.
Genshin Impact is available on PS4, PS5, mobile devices, and Windows PC.
