CyberConnect2 Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary In 2021

CyberConnect2 is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year by setting up a webpage that is available in Japanese and English. It is also “planning many things” to make this anniversary milestone year, which runs until February 16, 2022, memorable to everyone.

On the anniversary webpage, CyberConnect2 is accepting celebratory messages and illustrations from its worldwide fans all year round. Although the company can only send gratitude postcards within Japan, it plans to share the received submissions on its webpage and social media accounts. It is also holding a sale on CC2 Store International every 16th until February 2022.

CyberConnect2 is a game development studio established in 1996. The company’s first two games were on the first PlayStation: the 1998 Tail Concerto and the 1999 Silent Bomber, both published by Bandai. The studio becamewell known after creating the .hack tetralogy (Infection to Quarantine) for PlayStation 2 over the course of 10 months from June 2002 to April 2003, as well as Naruto: Ultimate Ninja in October 2003.

The company is also known for developing two JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure console games: All Star Battle for PlayStation 3 and Eyes of Heaven for PlayStation 4. Although it has worked with Bandai Namco to publish most of its titles, the studio also created Asura’s Wrath for Capcom in 2012. The latest release developed by CyberConnect2 to date is Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which Bandai Namco published for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in January 2020.

CyberConnect2 is currently developing Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan with Aniplex for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021. The company is also working on Fuga: Melodies of Steel as its first self-published title for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. However, Fuga‘s release got delayed well past 2020.
