A PC demo of Culdcept the First appeared ahead of itsworldwide release on multiple platforms, and it allows you to continue your progress once the full game appears. This only applies to that one platform, however. The trial is live now on Steam as part of the Summer Game Fest 2026 festivities.
There are a few things to keep in mind with the Culdcept the First demo. First is that you do need a controller in order to play it. The Steam page noted it doesn’t support mouse and keyboard. It is also a very limited trial. You will get to sample a Story Mode, which should act as a tutorial of sorts. One Battle Mode board/map will appear too. However, if you do go through it, the cards you collect while playing will be permanently part of your collection and can be used in decks in the full version of the game.
This is one of two games on the way. The other is Culdcept Begins. That’s coming from Neos Corporation, and not City Connection like this one. It will feature a new story and elements when it debuts in 2026.
Culdcept the First will come to the PC on July 30, 2026, and a demo is out now. It will also appear on the Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
