Not long after FuRyu confirmed a Crystar Nintendo Switch version would appear in Japan, NIS America appeared to bring up a worldwide release. The new version of the game, which will contain all of the original’s content and DLC, will be out next year. There’s no exact release window for it. However, there is an initial trailer.
Crystar is an action RPG. Players follow Rei as she attempts to resurrect her deceased sister. As an Executor, she fights demons to collect Ideas. Her tears also give her additional power to face her foes. She heads into purgatory to reach her soul. Though she’s not alone, as she comes across other Executors dealing with grief who are journeying through purgatory for their own reasons.
Here’s the first trailer.
As for the DLC, the original Crystar offered an array of additional outfits for characters. Rei, Kokoro, Nanana, and Sen each had extra clothing, Santa costumes, comic version outfits, peddler and mascot costumes, and swimwear. When someone gets the Switch version of Crystar, those will all be there.
Crystar will come to the Nintendo Switch in Japan on February 24, 2022. It will appear worldwide in 2022 as well. It is immediately available on the PS4 and PC worldwide.
