Any minute now Crystal Defenders is going to pop on Xbox Live. Surprisingly, Square Enix’s tower defense game got a simultaneous release on Japan’s PlayStation Store as well.
Overseas Crystal Defenders for PlayStation 3 costs 900 yen or about $9.15 in greenbacks. That’s a tiny bit cheaper than the Xbox 360 version which is on sale for 800 Microsoft Points, $10 American dollars or 1,100 yen. Ouch! Ah, that’s right Microsoft Points are more expensive overseas. I don’t foresee the same kind of price discrepancy domestically. Square Enix will probably charge $10 for Crystal Defenders on both consoles.
Technically, Crystal Defenders is Square Enix’s first PlayStation 3 game if you don’t count all the downloadable PsOne games sitting in the PlayStation Archives.
