Global A’s claim to fame has been developing games where players actively alter the world. The first one that got localized was Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground where players made the dungeons they explored. The trend continued with Sekai wa Atashi de Mawatteru where you swap land tiles for stat bonuses. Chuumon Shiyouze! Oretachi no Sekai (interpreted with less broken English as: Our World, Our Order) takes the concept one step further where you build quests for an RPG. The system has players spend money to purchase land, rent monsters, and place treasure chests. Once the budget has been set you can go on an adventure. More money allows you to place stronger monsters to fight and presumably kill to raise your party members’ levels. The concept is very interesting without even analyzing the combat system. About that, it looks like Chuumon Shiyouze! Oretachi no Sekai simplifies strategy RPG fights to a smaller grid. Also very interesting!
Global A plans to release Chuumon Shiyouze! Oretachi no Sekai as a PSP game in Japan later this year. Since it’s barely been announced no North American publisher has committed to localizing it, but many Global A games are getting localized so I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone pick this up.
