Jeremy R. did some detective work (thanks!!) and discovered Soli Consultants is working on localizing Blokus Club Portable with Bumpy Trot in English. Prior to the tip I have never heard of the company. However, their translating resume includes a number of smaller games such as: Raiden III, Kengo Zero and Zombie vs. Ambulance. Their biggest project to date is probably the European version of No More Heroes where they are translating the text to French, Italian, German and Spanish.
Mawaskes, a quirky puzzle game from Irem, is also on their resume under the name SpinErase. The game plays sort of like a cross between Gunpey and the recent Piyotama. You have a screen of blue and yellow shapes on a grid. The goal is to link the yellow pieces together to make a huge shape. Mawaskes came out this summer in Japan, but this is the first that I’ve heard about it possibly coming out in English. Soli Consultants isn’t working on making English menus for nothing though! However, while an English version of Mawaskes seems plausible, it doesn’t mean it will arrive in North America. A number of Soli Consultants’ translations have remained in Europe like the Global Defence Force Tactics and the awful 10,000 Bullets.
