Corpse Party is getting a live-action movie adaptation in Japan this Summer, starring AKB48 member Rina Ikoma, who will make her starring debut with the film.

The movie is directed by Masafumi Yamada, and will also star Ryosuke Ikeoka from D-BOYS (a Japanese actors group), and fashion model Nozomi Maeda (who has worked with Popteen magazine).

The theme song for the Corpse Party movie will be performed by Asami Imai, and filming is scheduled to begin on March 15th.

Meanwhile, 5pb/Mages recently announced a Nintendo 3DS port of the original Corpse Party, which is slated for release this Summer. The publisher could be looking to expand the series out to a slightly broader audience between the movie and 3DS game.
