While Microsoft isn’t reaching out to Japanese developers like they did with Mistwalker and Q? Entertainment, they haven’t totally forgotten about Japan either.
They’re running a promotion with one of 7-Eleven’s main competitors, FamilyMart. Stop by any FamilyMart convenience store and purchase 700 Microsoft points through a Famipoint terminal (it’s a machine that sells different point cards) and you’ll get a Monster Hunter Frontier Online trial code as a bonus. The demo requires Xbox Live Gold, but will let players get to Hunter Rank 2 without paying for a Hunter License. After that you have to sign up for a subscription.
Monster Hunter Frontier Online players can also get a hunter starter set plus the demo by purchasing 1,400 Microsoft points or a special set of twin swords (that are actually axes) and the demo by purchasing 3,500 Microsoft points. Special items will be available until December 10. Monster Hunter Frontier Online trail codes will be given out until January 31, 2013.
