ConcernedApe Shares More Update on Haunted Chocolatier Progress

After a long silence, ConcernedApe gave an update on his progress for Haunted Chocolatier. Aside from some screencaps and plans for future development, most of the update is explaining why ConcernedApe couldn’t work on the game for so long.

Version 1.6 was a large update for Stardew Valley, though it supposed to be a more technical one so that fans could make more mods for the game. As the update became more expansive though, ConcernedApe had to focus on that, as well as work on patches, porting, and bug fixing. While the PC version of 1.6 came out in March 2024, the console and mobile patch for that version only came out in November 2024. So ConcernedApe was working on Stardew Valley for a lengthy time.

In the update, ConcernedApe reported that he’s finished the overall framework for Haunted Chocolatier. Now he’s going to tweak them, add more to it, and then flesh it out. As Haunted Chocolatier is a solo project, this may still take a while and ConcernedApe apologizes to fans who’re excited for the finished product. Like when he was working on Stardew Valley, he doesn’t want to have crowdfunding or early access, since that will apply external pressure. Though he might not have a lot of updates going forth, he wants people to know that he’s still working on the game and hasn’t abandoned it.

Haunted Chocolatier is in development for Windows PC.
