Another Stardew Valley is on the way, and 1.6 will include more mod support and some new content. Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone took to Twitter to confirm work on the patch. However, this also means a delay for his other title as a result. He said, “I’m taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to work on this at the moment.”
We already had some idea this update was in the works. The developer brought it up a few times in the past. In March 2022, he joked about it and also mentioned, “I don’t know if I will ever officially “close the book” on Stardew updates.”
Here’s Barone’s full statement on Stardew Valley 1.6 and the Haunted Chocolatier delay.
There is going to be a Stardew 1.6 update. It's mostly changes for modders (which will make it easier & more powerful to mod). But there is also new game content, albeit much less than 1.5. I'm taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to work on this at the moment. Then back to HC

This could mean a second big patch rollout for the game in 2023. This year, Concerned Ape finally released the long-awaited 1.5 update for the Android and iOS versions of the game.
Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita, and the 1.6 update is in development. Haunted Chocolatier is in development for PCs.
