Composer Yasunori Mitsuda, known for his work on the Chrono Cross and the Xenogears soundtracks, is in the process of working on the soundtrack for the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Mitsuda gave an update on how the soundtrack was coming along over on his Facebook page. [Thanks, NintendoEverything.]
Mitsuda explained that recording the music for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is basically complete at this point in time, and then went on to note that this is the biggest production he has been involved with. He also added that he is in charge of budget management, booking, music sheet management, and composing.
Mixing the music has only just started for the cutscenes of the game, Mitsuda went on to say, so only half the tracks are mixed so far. However, he noted that the recording sound quality is good. Lastly, Mitsuda said that the team is working hard to top the original Xenoblade soundtrack, and that it’s the largest scale projects in the entire gaming world.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will release for the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2017.
