Bandai Namco shared new details for the upcoming action RPG Code Vein with new details on how multiplayer works with features and how you’ll get to call for help from other players to work together. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]
The QUEEN Project was a series of experiments with a goal to suppress the thirst of homogenous blood for Revenants in order to make them into the best possible soldiers. As a result, one girl who was a test subject made a run for it after taking too much pain from the experiments. She’s known as QUEEN (pictured above).
In the Famitsu magazine we’re introduced to two new characters involved with the project:
- Karen (CV: Yumi Hara): A collaborator of Project QUEEN. Louis’ sister.
- Chris Silva: A Project QUEEN test subject.
Next are details for multiplayer.
In Code Vein you can send out distress signals and get helped from players that meet the requirements. When a rescue player appears, you’ll still get to play together with your AI Buddy.
The Bloodforge ability (or Blood Smelting) is an action that becomes available when using the Blood Veil to suck blood from the Lost. Using this you can use buffs, debuffs, direct attacks, and more. When a helper shows up online, they can also take advantage of the benefits from your Buddy’s Bloodforge abilities as well.
Players will get to communicate with each other by using emotions through a combination of “Voice,” “Gesture,” and “Stamp.”
Code Vein releases in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
