Prototype confirmed that there the Japanese release of Clannad on Switch support Japanese and English language options for its text and Japanese-only audio. In addition to the in-game text, the options and digital manual will also be available in English. Players will get to switch languages at any time during the game.

Additionally, the game adds a couple neat touchscreen features that allow for a variety of ways to play. The handheld mode is a given, but players will also get to play touchscreen-only with both Joy-Con removed. Prototype made this a feature in order to further enhance the portable aspect when playing Clannad on the Nintendo Switch.

Lastly, there’s one extra bonus that fans from the West will get to look forward to, and that is the “Dangopedia.” The Dangopedia was available in the previous English releases, and it is basically an encyclopedia for various Japanese terms/keywords that acts as a handy reference tool for understanding aspects of Japanese tradition and pop culture. This feature is only available when the game is set in English.
