A Hyperdimension Neptunia strategic simulation spin-off has yet to be released, but people with Sid Meier’s Civilization V can experience the next best thing. A modder by the name of Vice Virtuoso has created five civilizations for the Windows, Mac, and Linux PC game inspired by the Idea Factory series.
Vice Virtuoso has made Planeptune, Planeptune MK2, Lastation MK2, Leanbox, and Lowee civilization mods so far. Their leaders are, respectively, Neptune, Nepgear, Uni, Vert, and Blanc. Each civilization uses a unique Shares yield system to use points from Great Works to transform the leaders into their CPU Goddess/Goddess Candidate forms for added bonuses. Each leader has character-specific boosts based on their standard and CPU Goddess/Candidate forms, a unique military unit, an original building, city names inspired by the series, and religions based upon the series.
For example, Neptune’s ability means building Shares in Cities is 200% more effective, Histoire can be sent to Cities to annex them and double Production, and all cities are Puppets. If she’s earned enough shares to transform into Purple Heart, then all cities earn +1% yields for every 3% shares. Her unique unit is the Dogoo Knight, which can fight and create Slime Puddle improvements that reduce unit movement, and her Pudding Parlor buildings reduces Puppet Yield penalties by 2% for every citizen in a city and triggers a city Side Quest that offers a Luxury resource reward.
To install the Hyperdimension Neptunia-inspired civilizations to Civilization V, visit their pages in the Steam Workshop and click the subscribe button to add them to your game. All five civilizations require the Brave New World expansion and the Hyperdimension Neptunia: Core Files mod to run, due to the addition of the Shares system yield, Basilicoms Religious belief, and 24 series-inspired City-States. An complimentary soundtrack mod is also available to alter the music, but it isn’t available through Steam.
