It’s not often that Touhou fangames come from other places than Japan, and Touhou Makuka Sai ~ Fantastic Danmaku Festival Part II is just that, a Chinese-developed fangame that sticks to the series’ roots of being a danmaku shmup. The game is a sequel to the first Touhou Makuka Sai, which released five years ago and was released on Steam last year with English support.

In this game, spring has arrived in Gensokyo, following the events of the first game. However, a sudden unprecedented blizzard hits, and the youkai soon become restless. In order to figure out the mystery behind the blizzard before it gets worse, Reimu, Marisa, and Sanae meet up to get to the roots of the incident.

While Fantastic Danmaku Festival Part II is set to support both English and Japanese aside from its native Chinese support, support for both languages has been delayed in order to improve the quality of the translations. Support will now come in an update after the game releases.

Touhou Makuka Sai~ Fantastic Danmaku Festival Part II is set to release on PC via Steam on March 18, 2019. You can find the Steam page here, and the developer’s Twitter account here.
