Earlier in the year, Nintendo released a Chibi-Robo game on the Nintendo eShop Japan, focusing on photographing your surroundings. This game was subsequently confirmed for western release via the Australian Classification Board, but this morning, Nintendo confirmed their plans for the title with an official announcement.
Chibi-Robo: Photo Finder tasks you with helping a new museum get off the ground. You’re given silhouettes of objects the museum requires, and then need to use the Nintendo 3DS camera to find matching objects in the real world.
Along the way, you’ll also help characters like superheroes with various tasks, but you’ll need to keep an eye on his electrical reserves, lest he run out of battery. In addition, Photo Finder will have community events that focus on particular silhouettes, and give players a chance to showcase their creativity.
A demo for Chibi-Robo: Photo Finder will be available “soon” on the Nintendo eShop, with the full game available on January 9th in North America. A European release date has not been announced yet.
