Chex Quest HD Brings the Chex Mix Adventure Back With Multiplayer

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

A notable piece of gaming history has returned. The free Chex Quest HD remake has arrived and is available via Steam. This means people can once again chow down on a first-person shooter that was created for Chex cereal. (It was also the first video game to be given away as a cereal prize!) Even more notable is that this version includes multiplayer.

In Chex Quest HD, you have to use Zorchers to send the Flemoids back to their home dimension and save the people of Bazoik. As you are Chex Warrior, there are plenty of references to Chex cereal and Chex Mix as you collect power ups and save the day. In fact, your whole squadron is the Chex Mix Squadron made up of pepole with other relevant-shaped armor.

The biggest new addition for Chex Quest HD, aside from the DOOM-like now using Engine 4, is that the five-level game now includes multiplayer. This means five more playable characters have been introduced and can be unlocked. Also, while it is a split-screen multiplayer mode, remote play is supported for those who can’t be in the same space together.

Here’s the launch trailer for the game. It shows off five new members of the Chex Mix Squadron who were recruited for the multiplayer mode.

Previously, a past feature on the game involved Marc Ericksen being brought in to create new cover art for it.

Chex Quest HD is now available for PCs.
