Charon is an ally in Shin Megami Tensei IV. If your party gets wiped out in battle you can pay Charon a fee to revive your team. I hope Charon turns on players like Odin in Final Fantasy Legend II / SaGa 2. If you keep dying Shin Megami Tensei IV will give players an option to change the difficulty level, which makes the Nintendo 3DS game more beginner friendly than other entries in the series.
Shin Megami Tensei IV uses the press turn battle system introduced in Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. If you exploit enemy weaknesses you gain extra turns. This works both ways—enemies can also get extra turns if they hit your weak points.
Famitsu also says demon designer Kazuma Kaneko worked on the scenario for Shin Megami Tensei IV. Shin Megami Tensei IV is in development for Nintendo 3DS.
