Character Designer Shares New Art for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Anniversary

In celebration of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 anniversary, character designer Masatsugu Saito shared some special art on his Twitter account. The new illustration is of the game’s female protagonists, Pyra and Mythra. This marks the third anniversary since the game first released worldwide on December 1, 2020.

Masatsugu Saito was in charge of the main character design for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, creating characters like Rex, Pyra, and Mythra. Saito put a considerable amount of thought into his character designs, with accessories that blow in the wind and unique color-coding. Nintendo first unveiled Xenoblade Chronicles 2 at its Nintendo Switch reveal event in January 2017. The game has been a big success critically and financially for Nintendo. The title’s developers, Monolith Soft, quickly followed up with a prequel entitled Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. With the recent release of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition behind it, fans are eagerly anticipating Monolith Soft’s next announcement for the Xeno series.
