Cave iOS Shmup 64-bit Updates Are On The Way

There’s good news for people who enjoy the mobile versions of Cave shmups. The company is going to make its classic Apple iOS apps compatible with modern devices again. It has opened a Cave Sh∞ting World website and confirmed 64-bit updates for four games.

Previously, Cave’s Deathsmiles, DoDonPachi Blissful Death, DoDonPachi Maximum, and DoDonPachi Resurrection HD were all only playable on 32-bit devices, which meant people who updated to iOS 11 lost access to the shooters. However, free updates will be arriving for all four games. A sale will be held on each of them soon to celebrate this development. (Also, as a reminder, all four games have “lite” trial versions.)

Deathsmiles, DoDonPachi Blissful Death, DoDonPachi Maximum, and DoDonPachi Resurrection HD will all be playable on 64-bit Apple iOS devices again after the free update. In addition, on September 15, 2019, Cave will appear on the Dengeki x Famitsu TGS 2019 fourth day broadcast between 14:00-14:45 JST for what is being called a “major announcement” on Twitter.
