Catching Pals Is the Best Palworld Farming EXP ‘Hack’

There are a handful of ways of farming EXP in Palworld. While a lot of activities will earn you small amounts of EXP, only a couple of methods are useful for leveling up quickly and efficiently.

What’s the best method for farming EXP in Palworld?

The most effective method of farming EXP in Palworld is through capturing Pals. While almost everything you do in the game will reward you with EXP, the difference between tasks is vast. For crafting projects, you will earn 1 or 2 EXP every time you make an item, or maybe a few extra EXP for completing a base project. Defeating enemies provides a higher amount of EXP, but even this isn’t that much.

However, when capturing Pals you can get hundreds of EXP per each capture. This is because the game provides a ton of bonuses for Pal captures, especially if you catch multiple Pals of the same type.

If you’re looking to maximise your EXP gain, your best bet is to seek out Pals of the same type and gather a bunch at once. The bonus increases with each Pal you catch, with a huge payout on the tenth Pal of that type. However, the bonuses stop after catching the tenth Pal of one type, so you’ll need to move to a different type after this to keep getting bonuses.

Is fighting bosses a good method of farming EXP in Palworld?

Bosses can be a good method of farming EXP too. However, as each boss can typically only be taken on once, it’s a limited method, and the EXP rewards aren’t as great. The best strategy is to keep an eye on boss placements on the map and tackle them whenever you reach an appropriate level. Since most of the bosses on the map are just large versions of Pals, they can be caught as normal, and this also adds the capture bonus on top of their standard EXP reward.

Dungeon bosses do respawn, however. A different Pal will become a boss each time you enter its dungeon, and this may be your best option for repeated farming attempts. If this boss is a Pal you still haven’t caught ten of, it’s extra useful because they are usually accompanied by a group of standard Pals of the same type. If you’re able to capture all of them, including the boss, you’ll gain a sizeable EXP reward.

Palworld is out now in Early Access for the PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
