A new Galarian Pokemon is joining Pokemon Sword and Shield today. Galarian Slowpoke will appear after people download a software update released later on January 9, 2020. Once they do, they can visit Wedgehurst station to get a chance to meet one of the expansion pass’ characters and get the new version of Slowpoke.
If you have Pokemon Sword, Clara will be waiting for you, while Pokemon Shield will have Avery. While talking with them, one Galarian Slowpoke from the Isle of Armor will appear. You then can catch it and begin training it immediately.
There will be two evolution options for Galarian Slowpoke, and they vary depending on which evolutionary item you get. Galarian Slowbro comes from the Isle of Armor’s item, while the Crown Tundra’s item turns it into Galarian Slowking.
In addition to Galarian Slowpoke, some other Pokemon will be appearing more frequently starting today for a limited time. Gigantimax Coalossal and Gigantamax Flapple will appear more frequently in Pokemon Sword, while Gigantimax Appletun and Gigantamax Lapras will show up more often in Pokemon Shield.
Pokemon Sword and Shield are available for the Nintendo Switch. The new expansion pass will allow people to visit different areas and recruit more Pokemon starting with part one in June 2020. (Also, Pokemon Home will launch in February 2020.
