The Castlevania Netflix series creator Adi Shankar has revealed that he is working on a new show based on Capcom’s Devil May Cry™ series, featuring Dante. (Thanks, IGN!)
Yesterday, Shankar teased on Twitter that some important game-related news would be revealed on November 16, 2018. It turns out that he is making an animated multiverse that includes both the Castlevania Netflix show, as well as an upcoming Devil May Cry series.
In an interview with IGN, Shankar explains that he “acquired these rights [him]self so the jabronis in Hollywood don’t f*** this one up too.” He explained that Castlevania’s success, which led to a Season 3 being announced days after the second season aired, was the reason for the Devil May Cry announcement. He also thanked the fans for helping him get this far.
As for the multiverse, Shankar did not share much, other than that both series are a part of what they’re calling “the bootleg multiverse”.
Currently, no info has been given as to whether Devil May Cry will be Netflix-exclusive like Castlevania. The first two seasons of Netflix’s Castlevania are immediately available.
