The rumour about Castlevania on the Nintendo 3DS was true, according to a GoNintendo report. The game is being developed by Castlevania: Lords of Shadow developer, Mercury Steam, and has been revealed in the latest issue of Nintendo Power magazine. It’s titled Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate.
Details are a little sketchy, as all we have to go on are some vague notes, but Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate involves Trevor Belmont, who fights with his own version of the Combat Cross weapon featured in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Scans of screenshots from the magazine show a 2.5D perspective.
GoNintendo’s report also mentions the game’s controls and sub-weapons. The boomerang-like glaive and electric bomb will be available in the game and are used with the A button. X and Y perform attacks with the Combat Cross, while L is used for dodging and blocking and R is used for grabbing enemies.
Combos also appear to be available in the game, and you unlock more of these by earning experience points. Different moves mentioned include being able to launch enemies into the air or pound them into the ground. Light and Shadow magic will also reportedly be in the game in some form.
