Konami is re-releasing Castlevania II: Dracula’s Curse as a Virtual Console game for Nintendo 3DS. Simon’s Quest was a precursor to Symphony of the Night and the "Metroidvania" style Castlevania games. Players have to collect Dracula’s body parts (which strangely enough give Simon more abilities…) which are scattered in different castles. The game has a day/night system and multiple endings depending on how long it takes for you to put Dracula back together.

In Japan, Castlevania II was released for the Famicom Disk System and had a save game feature. The North American release was on a cartridge so Konami implemented a password system for players to continue the game.

Castlevania II: Dracula’s Curse will be available in Japan on March 27 for 500 yen ($5.25).
