Circle Entertainment have published Nintendo 3DS games before, but they hadn’t actually developed any internally, up until now. Their first self-developed 3DS title will be Castle Conquerer – Dark Ages.

Castle Conquerer – Dark Ages is a strategy game that plays similarly to Castle Conquerer Heroes 2, but takes place in a medieval setting instead. At the start of the game, you choose different heroes to serve different countries. There are eight heroes and eight countries.

Each hero has unique abilities and skills, and each country has unique technology and tactics. There are 51 different kinds of units in the game, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Additionally, factors like terrain and weather now influence the battlefield as well.

One example of this is that, at night time, the line of vision for all units decreases. Another example is boats being damaged by bad weather in the sea. Additionally, the art style being used this time skews more Japanese, so the game will be using Japanese voices.

Circle Entertainment are currently in the midst of development and are designing the game’s AI, with the goal of wrapping development up in the next few months. The goal is to release the game in Q4, if all goes according to plan.
