Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions will have an original story mode and its own character creation feature. Bandai Namco shared more details in this week’s issue of Jump magazine. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]
“Rise of New Champions” is the name of the original story mode. The mode uses a character creator to make your own protagonist. After making the character, you choose a school to attend out of Toho Academy, Musashi Middle, and Furano Middle. In this mode, you can enjoy interactions between your character and various other players between matches.
A new tournament called New Hero League is the setting, where you’ll take on matches using special moves taught by characters from the anime. There is also a game original anime to go with it.
In addition to the original story mode, Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions has a regular story mode featuring Tsubasa Ozora and everyone else from his Nankatsu Middle School days. In this story mode, the story changes based on match results and other events.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions will release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2020. Check out the latest gameplay trailer featuring iconic and flashy moves in our previous report.
