Capcom revealed new Monster Hunter 20th anniversary merchandise that will be available in Japan from April 2024. People residing in the country will be able to get these items by visiting the Capcom Cafe and accessing the Capcom Net Catcher online crane game.
All items in this lineup will feature chibi artwork of Monster Hunter creatures. It will include not only ferocious monsters like Rathalos and Nargacuga but also the friendly kinds like Felyne and Poogie.
The largest merchandise lineup will be available at Capcom Cafe outlets in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, and Umeda, Osaka for a limited time from April 12, 2024, to July 4, 2024. The items will range from multipurpose clothes and food picks priced at 550 yen (~$3.63) to sets of ten pins that cost 7,700 yen (~$51) each.
In addition to the above, Capcom will also add new Monster Hunter-themed items in Capcom Net Catcher on April 13, 2024. Players will be able to win a desk mat and a set of acrylic clips featuring the same monster illustrations.
The Monster Hunter series’ 20th anniversary fell on March 11, 2024. Capcom released the first-ever Monster Hunter game for PlayStation 2 in Japan on the same day in 2004. It has been working with other companies to make collaborative products in Japan. They range from food products like Sushiro’s sushi and Oisis’ bread to Seiko watches and Takara Tomy’s Zoids model kits. Capcom will wrap up the major anniversary year by releasing the new game Monster Hunter Wilds for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2025.
